Fullerton Ave. Chicago, IL 60647 free and open to the public, all ages _You’re invited to come to the closing reception of Liar, Liar, River On Fire—an exhibition of powerful woodcut prints and sculptural works by Corey Hagelberg. Liar, Liar, River On Fire relates to environmental issues on the South Shore of Lake Michigan. This region, beginning on Chicago’s South Side, is one of the most biodiverse, yet also one of the most industrialized, regions of the United States. Hagelberg’s work seeks to blurs the line between humor and tragedy, current and historical, high art and low art, natural and industrial, accusation and confession, and beautiful and grotesque. Hagelberg hopes that it will encourage the viewer to evaluate and challenge their own notions of meaning, value and beauty. This closing reception includes:
